The game itself follows on from Assassins creed 1 with you in the present being sent back through time through memories to live out the story of Ezio Adoitore. You start as a smooth talking Italian only interested in fighting and women but soon things take a turn for the worst. As the story takes shape through some twists and turns that show your family may not be what you thought. You take on the role of the assassin. The hooded, knife wielding, stealth assassin out for revenge. In today’s world you would be called a hoody and given an ASBO for carrying knives. You must use your new skills to disappear amongst the crowds as you must rely on you animosity to survive and exact your revenge.
It is set in Italy but characters speak in a broken cross between English and Italian rather than forcing you to read subtitles or having Leonardo Di Vinci speak with an American accent. With so many people around you speaking this new hybrid you may find yourself adopting a comedy Italian accent. And when you meet your uncle and he announces “it’s me MARIO”!! I did crack a smile.
Over all a much better effort than the first one some complaints about the controls from fans but not here I thought they worked well for the most part on occasion he had a habit of jumping the wrong way or just not climbing when you really really need him to get moving. Story is very good told at a nice pace with a nice evolving script. All in all a very enjoyable experience and certainly value for money as it’s huge.
It also is one of the first games to feature Ubisofts new creation Uplay which is an online profile allowing you to share with other users to gain points to use to unlock new features in the games. More can be learnt about u play in our UPLAY BETA article.
