| Another reincarnation in the series that first showed up as a PS3 release title. It has now made it onto the handheld market just in time for the PSPGO release. The guys at BigBig studios have done a very good job at shrinking the game without sacrificing any of the madness that fans of the PS3 titles enjoyed.
This time the off roader’s are heading to Alaska to battle, speed, jump and boost around the icy tracks. With the inclusion of ice and snow an all ready frantic wild dash around the tracks has just gone up a notch. As always the tracks have numerous different paths to follow nothing is set out for you in this game while one direction may hamper the heavier vehicles while the snowcats can wizz by. The next path you choose could give you that all important edge. The tracks look great they get cut up as you drive around so they are always changing.
As with its bigger brother’s this PSP title is a pure arcade racer you don’t need to do any of the fiddly tuning and trying to get license here but it does allow you to customize your vehicle style with new wheels exhausts spoilers ad stickers. This game is ready to go from the second you put it in your PSP. Straight away you are hit by how bright a loud this game is. Be ready for it if you are expecting a quite technical driving experience then your in the wrong place Motorstorm is as wild to play as it looks. The vehicle designs are quite good nothing spectacular like we saw in GTPSP but still quite impressive. And when you crash the slow motion smash sequences are very satisfying.
In addition to the six vehicle classes from the original MotorStorm, two new vehicles (the Snowcat and Snow Machine) have been introduced to combat the ice, the cold and the snow. One has the power and size to blast through packed snow, while the other has the grip and pace to combat most of what the sub-zero conditions can throw at it. Choosing the right vehicle can be as important as choosing the right path on the tracks. Each is very different and will take a while to master them all. |
