When killzone 2 landed into my hands I thought ah just another squeal. The hype around this game has been massive and this is what everyone was waiting for. Well all I can say is for a game this hyped up it dosn't fail in any department, it has everything stunning graphics, amazing gameplay, storyline and an amazing multiplayer.
The firepower in the game is unreal. The m82 has a very effective assault rifle with a green dot scope this is effective at long range and surprisingly effective at close range as well. The ls13 is a very powerful and fun gun to use, usually when you shoot your enemy in the head the helmet comes off but with this gun it takes there head clean off, when I first saw this it blew me away. The range of weapons is impressive from assault rifle's, shotgun's, SMG's, to sniper rifles to a brutal flamethrower.
As you battle through the war torn planet of Helgan as in the first killzone the game mainly consists of your average helgan footsoldier know as Hellgast .But occasionally they throw out a few big guns (I wont say to much as it will only ruin the storyline). The action in the game has been intensified from KZ1 .The storyline is compelling and the AI is very well done the Helgast are intelligent they will find cover and flank you when you open fire they will duck behind cover sometimes scampering back into cover as your rain in the bullets.
The gritty atmosphere of the game is compelling it really draws you into the game when the bullets are zipping by your head and your surrounded by explosion’s it really does feel like your in the middle of a warzone.
Whether you go all guns blazing or take the cover approach each mission will always throw something unexpected at you. The game also uses the six-axis for stabilizing the sniper, setting charges, opening valves etc.Throughout the game you will be treated to some brilliant cut scenes the game is percfectly weighted it flows along and the learning curve steps it up just at the right times .Although the game is only seven to nine hours long some of the levels are so impressive you will find your self playing through this game more than once.
Then there is the multi-player aspect to the game which will give you months of pleasure. The multiplayer in one word is AWSOME I cant recommend it enough. The eight maps shipped with the game are exceptional and every mode suit’s each map. Killzone's a haven for clans as it supports 32 player online battle, each team can be split up into squads each squad has its own earpiece channel so you can communicate with your team with out the annoyance of online idiots playing weird European techno. The maps are large enough to stop the 32 players bunching up and still keep the action free flowing.
While this game doesn't redefine the genre it does what it is supposed to do very well. Its up there with the best at the moment and a welcome break from COD4. |
