The Orange Box
|
A true revolution in gaming Quite frankly, this is one of the most revolutionary games that I have ever seen. In my opinion, its signifigance is actually more important than LittleBigPlanet. While LBP is revolutionary, The Orange Box has provided me with a deep sense of enjoyment that I haven't experienced in a game for a while.

Half-Life is one of the most entertaining games I've seen for a while. It is the next generation of FPS games. In games such as Halo or Resistance, there is a sense of run-and-gun. This is not the case with Half-Life. It's a combination of puzzle-solving and shooting. In a shooting game, you only get a sense of enjoyment when you annhiallate everyone. In Half-Life, the great sense of joy at solving a puzzle like trying to get a ramp down is more enjoyable that anything. It's the kind of game where you don't just have to be good at shooting, but intelligent as well. |

Portal is also a real puzzle-solver, in every sense. You literally have to figure out how to get from A to B, as easily as possible. Again, you need a brain to really appreciate this game, and it's sense of fun.
I must confess to not playing Team Fortress yet, but if the other games on the disc are anything to go by, it will be just as entertaining.
The Orange Box is a fantastic disc with fantastic games, and with the game out a while now, a cheap pre-owned copy is money well spent. 86/100
