Iron Man 3 – First official trailer

The trailer for the upcoming Iron Man sequel is finally here!!

Robert Downey Jr. returns as the charismatic Tony Stark/Iron Man in the third installment of the Marvel franchise.
Things are looking pretty grim this time around, with Stark struggling with incessant nightmares, guilt, and a new villain: the nefarious Mandarin, played by Sir Ben Kingsley.

Apart from getting the adrenaline running, the trailer also reveals one or two important details:

1: Stark mentions ‘New York’, which suggests the events of The Avengers movie may play a significant role in this installment. We may even see a cameo from his science buddy, Bruce Banner AKA The Hulk (depicted by Mark Ruffalo).

2: Stark’s latest suit of armour appears to be an improved model from that in the Avengers movie, one that responds to his thoughts and, seemingly, doesn’t even require him to be in it.

3: War Machine has been given a patriotic makeover! Is this a response to Captain America’s presence in the Marvel universe?

4: Pepper Potts, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, appears to have a far more significant role in this installment, with more than one scene focusing on her evolving relationship with Tony.

5: In a quick telltale shot, we are given a glimpse at the famous power-rings on the Mandarin’s fingers. This suggests that the action of Iron Man 3 will be a little more divorced from reality than previous installments, but also, considering the abilities it gives him, promises some serious action sequences!

Iron Man 3 is set for release on April 26th, 2013
