We may have to wait a little longer for the sequel to the magnificent game that is Red Dead Redemption, folks, but the extra wait will be worth it; Rockstar Games have announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released this October.
In a statement on their website, they explain the need for the extra time:
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
Considering the original came out in 2010, a half year on from their estimated release date of Spring 2018, October isn’t that long a stretch for some fans (originally scheduled to drop in the third quarter of 2017).
We may be able to see more news and gameplay in this year’s upcoming E3 event in June.
