Loads of Nintendo Switch Titles Announced.

The Nintendo Switch, releasing at the start of March, is a hybrid home/portable console that aims to bridge the gap between traditional gaming in front of the TV and the ever growing in popularity of mobile devices. Using some smart controller options the console can easily turn from a proper handheld console back into a proper home console in a few seconds giving players the best of both worlds.

Nintendo have had mixed fortunes recently. The under powered gimmicky Wii sold like gangbusters. The follow up, and far superior, Wii-U went head to head with the PS4 and Xbox One and failed to find a big enough player base to get consistent third party support and died.

The Switch has a lot going against it. It is already falling behind in terms of power when compared to the PS4 and XboxOne. It is also entering the market with a hefty price point of around €329 and a limited slate of launch titles. Even Mario is missing from the list of launch titles as Odyssey won’t launch until later this year, meaning it is relying heavily on the portable aspect to be its unique selling point. While it obviously offers a far better experience than a tablet, is this enough to make it a must have?
