Havok’s MD On Their Input Into The PS Vita’s Uncharted Golden Abyss To Kick Off Their GDC Exhibition this Week

Havok, the Emmy award winning Irish Company provides interactive solutions for the global games and entertainment industry are going to be exhibiting at the GDC conference all this week (5th-9th March) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Announcing their presence at the conference Havok’s Managing Director David Coghlan talks about their input into the amazing visuals and physics implemented by the award-winning Sony Computer Entertainment Bend Studio in the stunning Uncharted Golden Abyss one of the launch titles on the Vita when it launched late last month.

From the start of development, Bend Studio took advantage of Havok’s platform optimized technology that allowed them to fully leverage the multi-core hardware in the PS Vita system by making use of Havok’s Physics and Animation technology allowing Bend Studio to reach higher levels of fidelity and interactivity for the PS Vita system.  One of the great advantages of Havok’s toolset is the out-of-the-box integration between Animation and Physics for advanced character interaction within the game environment, and with the ease of getting started and the unparalleled support the tools provide it has proven instrumental in the success of the game’s development.
