Director Yann Demange
Following universal rave reviews, Element Pictures Distribution have announce that ’71 has been nominated for five European Film Awards.
This news comes on the back of the film’s highly successful opening weekend, which saw ’71, starring Jack O’Connell, open on the second highest screen average after Gone Girl. The film which tells the story of a young British soldier accidentally abandoned by his unit following a terrifying riot on the streets of Belfast in 1971, will now extend its release, doubling the scale of release in Ireland this weekend.
The film’s director Yann Demange and writer Gregory Burke, will be in Dublin this Friday (17th) for a Q&A in the IFI after the 6.30pm screening of ’71.
