E3 2017 – Bethesda

Bethesda packed a lot into the short time into their showcase at E3 this year; here’s a round up of all the show’s main highlights:

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
The war isn’t over until BJ Blazkowicz says it’s over. After narrowly surviving his final mission in Wolfenstein: The New Order, BJ is headed to the US to face off against the Nazi regime on his home turf in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. He’ll need to gather what resistance forces he can if he hopes to end their reign of tyranny in America.
A lengthy eight minutes of a reveal trailer was shown at E3 this year – the follow up to Wolfenstein: The New Order looks a treat – it’s now available for pre-order and has a release date of October 27th 2017.

The Evil Within 2

From Tango Gameworks and horror mastermind Shinji Mikami comes The Evil Within 2, the sequel to the widely-praised 2014 survival horror game. In order to save Lily – the daughter he believed he lost years ago – Sebastian will have to step into the madness once again. Announced during the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, The Evil Within 2 will launch worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Friday the 13th in October 2017.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

Reuniting with her mentor – the legendary assassin Daud – Billie Lurk, once one of Dunwall’s most notorious killers-for-hire, will explore the dark underbelly of Karnaca in order to pull off the ultimate assassination: killing the Outsider.

From the critically acclaimed developers at Arkane Studios, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is the first standalone adventure in the award-winning Dishonored series. Revealed at the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, Death of the Outsider will release on September 15, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Switch

With Switch-exclusive motion control for combat, lockpicking and more, Skyrim has become portable – take Skyrim on the go and explore the much loved landscape of the Nords. Skyrim on Switch has Amiibo support thrown in, so you can dress your Dovahkiin in The Legend of Zelda threads.

Fallout 4 VR
Announced at last year’s E3, Bethesda had a few more details regarding the in-your-face version of the post-apocalyptic wastes of the Commonwealth.
Available on PC with the HTC Vive, it features new combat, crafting and building systems fully decked out for the VR version.

Creation Club

Creation Club is a collection of all-new content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim, featuring new items,, abilities and gameplay created by both Bethesda and outside developers, which includes the best community creators. Compatible with the main game and DLCs, it will be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4 later this summer.

Doom VFR

With brutal combat from the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre as well as modern VR, DOOM: VFR brings id Software’s trademark carnage to a standalone VR game. See Mars and Hell from a new perspective, and lay waste to an army of demonic foes in a definitive adventure custom built for PlayStation VR and VIVE.

Quake Champions

With the Closed Beta now open 24/7, anyone can hop in and be part of the intense action with just the press of a button. And with this expansion of the Closed Beta comes a ton of new additions to the game, including the introduction of Wolfenstein’s own BJ Blazkowicz – including new maps and new weapons. During the showcase, the Quake World Championships were also announced, with a $1 million prize pool.

The Elder Scrolls Legends Expansion – Heroes of Skyrim

This brand-new set of over 150 cards will include new mechanics like Shouts, familiar characters like Aela the Huntress, J’Zargo and Delphine and, of course, dragons like Alduin and Paarthurnax. Heroes of Skyrim will be available on June 29 on all platforms – but there will be lots more details about this expansion in the weeks leading up to then.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

Only just released at the beginning of June, Zenimax Online Studios and Beth will be packing far more content into ESO: Morrowind. During the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, the Horns of the Reach and the Clockwork City DLC game packs were both teased, giving players just a quick glimpse into the future of ESO. Horns of the Reach will be coming in August and Clockwork City will follow later this year.
