Release Date Out Now
This is genuinely one of the coolest things I have ever gotten, the morning my Gears of War 3D Armoured Gaming Case or Vault for short, arrived I could have easily been mistaken for a small child squealing with excitement. The box itself is around the same size as the one your 360 came in originally. It is donned with the Gears red and black and trademark COG skull staring out at you. The front opens in the middle and folds out to reveal the stunning Gears art work on each side of the box inlay. There behind a protective window lies your Vault, and if the box is this cool how good is the vault itself going to be!
Enough about the box and to the Vault itself, some assembly is required at it clamps around your Xbox and sits into its cradle but nothing too tasking and after a few seconds it’s all starting to come together nicely. My 360 has never looked better.
Now fully protected from and bumps or scratches or pesky fingerprints on by shiny black surface its ready for anything. The case is hard plastic and very solid, it locks around your console using the clamps included leaving room for the air vents and the cradle on one side and the Infected Omen on the other. The cradle lets you sit your unused controller on the side of your machine. The infected omen is the glowing skull you can see in the pictures.
Not only is the Omen a very cool addition but it also interacts with the game itself glowing and dimming in conjunction with your characters health onscreen when you are downed. The Omen and the cradle are just a number of the possible adds on available to use with the Vaults, they have an inbuilt system that allows you to easily pop them on or off depending on your taste.
So does it just look cool? or does it do anything functional? Well it does look the business that’s for sure but it also does help your console by giving it a steady footing to prevent those falls for users who like to stack their consoles on the sides and it increases the airflow around and through the console reducing the internal temperature and helping it to last longer as well.
If like me you go through console’s like it’s going out of fashion by kicking them over, getting RROD due to overheating, scraping them as you move them around or if you just like to deck out your console in your favourite themes then this Vault is for you. Unlike console skins this can be popped on and off in seconds allowing you to constantly upgrade your system to suit your tastes.
The Gears of War Armoured Gaming Case from Calibur 11 is probably the coolest peripherals we have ever gotten into the Bone-idle offices.
