Battlefront Details, Launch Trailer, Free DLC and Release Date.

DICE have been working hard undercover for what seems like an eternity without sharing very much about the upcoming Battlefront title, but that all changed yesterday as they took to the stage at the Star Wars Celebration in the Anaheim Convention Center to show off the reveal trailer and talk a little bit about what players can expect.

As seen in the trailer the game will focus on ground battles between Rebel and Imperial troops across a number of the iconic original Star Wars locations, and it will also feature dog fights between X-Wings and Tie fighters in the skies above. We did see AT-AT’s, Speeder Bikes, Snow Speeders, A-Wings and hero class characters such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett.

More details revealed that it will feature both first and third person views, up to 40 player multiplayer battles. Solo, Co-Op and Split Screen Challenges are also going to be included that have been inspired by the films.

The first DLC pack is FREE to everyone who purchases the game, “The Battle of Jakku” launches on December 8th with two new maps and takes place between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. After the Battle of Endor the Rebels attack a key Imperial holdout based on a remote desert planet in the Outer Rim. This DLC will “help explain” where that crashed destroyer from the beginning of The Force Awakens trailer came from. As a Pre-Order incentive players can get access to this DLC one week early (Dec 1st).
